A collaborative between the Alliance and Oakland University, this project utilizes the Science of the Positive to address mental health among OU students and reduce stigma. Using Positive Norm as the campaign mascot, this campaign seeks to educate about student norms surrounding mental health, seeking help and supporting friends. This campaign also addresses other issues such as substance use and student engagement on campus.

A comprehensive and adaptable life skills training program for at risk youth in an alternative school setting. The goal is to empower them in their life skill development targeted specifically to areas of need.

Botvin Life Skills

A research-validated substance abuse prevention program proven to reduce the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, and violence by targeting the major social and psychological factors that promote the initiation of substance use and other risky behaviors. This program consists of 15, 45-60 minutes sessions.

Topics include but are not limited to Self-image and Self-improvement, Making Decisions, Substance Misuse, Social Skills.

ReNEWed Middle School

A middle school program for 5th-7th grade designed to provide students with tools for dealing with stress, anxiety, and other difficult feelings. There are four 45 minute lessons that can be implemented individually or as a collective.

Prime For Life

Program Description

Prime for Life is a self-evaluation based program that allows participants to reflect on their decision making, learn to protect what is important to them and dive deep into how high-risk choices with substance use impacts different aspects of life. It includes 4-8 hours of content, a private workbook to complete activities and a step-by-step process of how to create goals for a more positive future. This program can be used as a prevention tool, as well as an intervention for students who are displaying at risk behaviors.
