- About Us
Our youth are facing many unique challenges today in navigating the landscape of choices for healthy living. Students and youth are exposed to many substances and stressors at an earlier age. They are influenced by the social media, technology and their peers without fully understanding the consequences and impact these options or decisions will have on their health and future. Substance misuse and addiction is not on the forefront of their mind when experimenting with drugs and alcohol.
The Alliance has found that when we educate our youth, provide programs, tools, and continued support, the rate of youth addiction and teen suicide greatly declines. Many of us know someone or has been affected by addiction at some point in our lives. Many of us know how it impacts the whole family. We are making great strides in creating an environment for our youth in Oakland County that provides the education and resources to help keep these students on the right track so that they do not become a statistic. We couldn’t do this without your help.
Having consistent prevention programs and support in our schools and community is making a huge difference to many families. These students need somewhere to go if they get off track, and the Alliance is there for them. Your support makes it possible to have more people in the field and a safe place to get help, recovery direction and support. The Alliance is their anchor, and we help these families and students through the chaos. We provide the resources and support needed to navigate through the storm.
The Alliance relies 100 percent on philanthropy from individuals, corporations, and foundations to run, manage, and maintain programs that provide prevention education and recovery support efforts throughout Oakland County. You are part of the solution to reduce teen addiction, accidental overdose and teen suicide. We are so grateful for your support and generosity. Your gift today will make a difference for the youth and young adults in Oakland County.
The Alliance provided me with compassionate support, education and the resources I needed. Now, I am in living a life of purpose and am in long term recovery from my Substance Use Disorder. My family and I are so grateful to The Alliance and the donors that support these programs. I don’t know where I would be if I wasn’t fortunate enough to receive their services.~Angela
